About The Position
The Operator Foreman will be responsible for conducting safety and quality meetings, ensuring daily equipment inspections and JSEA are performed, creating lift plans, maintaining and tracking rigging, directing riggers and helpers, inspecting rigging before use, controlling exclusion zones, verifying safe working loads, and coordinating with operators during lifts. This role requires communication of critical lift plans with supervision and project managers, and requesting specialized rigging as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of heavy lift experience.
Responsibilities
- Conducting morning and afternoon Safety / Quality meetings with highlighted topics.
- Assuring daily equipment inspection and JSEA are being performed.
- Creating lift plans in accordance with equipment capacities.
- Planning lifting operations.
- Studying plans to be carried out.
- Maintaining and tracking rigging.
- Ensuring routine maintenance or repairs are performed on company equipment.
- Directing riggers / helpers who attach and detach structures, piping, vessels etc.
- Inspecting rigging before use.
- Controlling exclusion/barricaded zones.
- Verifying safe working loads.
- Having the authority to stop unsafe work immediately if needed.
- Coordinating directly with operators during standard and tandem lifts using standard hand signals, or radio communications.
- Communicating critical lifts plans with supervision and Project managers.
- Requesting any specialized rigging that may be needed for specific scopes.
