About The Position

Monitors, maintains, and controls all deliveries of oil into and out of “Harvest Pipeline” pipelines via Scada and satellite monitoring. This role involves reviewing and monitoring prior shifts, checking daily computer logs and scan process boards for accuracy, and recording oil and gas volumes with necessary changes. The operator will also monitor and maintain daily flow charts and daily tank inventory, as well as process readings on daily log sheets. Acknowledging, responding to, and initiating corrections/actions to process alarms are key responsibilities. The position requires communication and collaboration with other Harvest personnel, field Operators, Producers, and other Pipeline Control facilities to manage daily operations, set flow rates, schedule shutdowns (including emergency shutdowns), manage pressures, and address any arising issues. The operator will monitor and maintain all control loops on the pipelines, conduct and/or coordinate ongoing maintenance and general housekeeping of the control room, and procure necessary materials and supplies. Additionally, the role involves reading automatic gauges at specified intervals to determine flow rates, monitoring and maintaining logs of meter readings, test results, and adjustments, and adhering to company values, vision, and mission. The ability to be available 24 hours per day for on-call duties, emergencies, and maintaining confidentiality of company assets is essential. Other duties as assigned by management are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of oil pipeline control experience, or closely related experience.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which includes seven (7) nights at 12-hours once a month and seven (7) days at 12-hours once a month.
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Ability to accurately perform tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate SCADA or other engineering control loops.
  • Good administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
  • Ability to make independent, rational decisions, as required.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of the plant process.
  • Ability to work alone and highly motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and/or coordinates ongoing maintenance and general housekeeping of the control room.
  • Procures necessary materials and supplies to complete daily tasks
  • Reads automatic gauges, as specified intervals, to determine flow rate of gas and oil.
  • Monitors and maintains logs of meter readings, test results, and adjustments made.
