Position Summary: To work the production schedule, operate and maintain the capper. Notify authorized personnel of any equipment malfunctions, breakdown or part replacement, in order to have all the machinery operating according to line machinery specifications.

Requirements

Frequent lifting of weights of up to 80 pounds
Ability to push or pull material in excess of 315 pounds
Frequently required to stand, walk and bend
Manual dexterity with ability to reach with hands and arms
Regularly required to talk, hear and see.
Able to read and write English fluently with ability to see
Climbing ladders and stairs often
Able to work in both hot/humid (in excess of 110 degrees F) and cold (below -20 degrees F) environments
Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility.
Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height.
Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.
Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction.
Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred
3 years manufacturing experience (Preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

Operate, set up, change over and adjust the capper.
Test for pull up, vacuum and security to meet company standards.
Clean the capper area as required.
Properly fill out paperwork required for the job and enter it into the touch screen system.
Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP’s/OSHA regulations/Preventative Controls.
Operate a forklift and Pallet Jack as required to move pallets around. (In house certification will be provided)
Stage the necessary caps for the shifts production.
Complete instructions and goals set by their supervisor.
In the absence of an employee for this position, the Management Team will delegate the responsibilities to the remaining staff to ensure that all Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities are fulfilled.
