About The Position

This position is responsible for completing all assigned duties and tasks before the end of their normal work shift. The Operator 1 will report directly to the Production Supervisor and must sign off on safety commitments. This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements for production areas.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Basic math skills.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must be detail-oriented.
Ability to lift 60-75lbs.
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
Meet required job-specific training located in the Training Register.

Responsibilities

Keep machines clean and in good running condition.
Keep accurate records of carton/film usage, downtime, and jam-ups.
Clear jams in a timely manner.
Follow proper safety measures.
Keep cartons/film loaded correctly during production.
Ensure packers receive a pouch of the new code and verbally communicate the new code to them.
Notify inspectors when they can load a new code on the line.
Change codes on the printer, knowing code requirements.
Check cartons/pouches immediately after code changes, comparing pouch code to carton code and checking for proper glue.
Notify mechanics of all machine problems.
Unload cartons/film and clean the machine at the end of the shift.
Routinely check glue pots, ink bottles, or ink pads.
Monitor line processing and complete required paperwork.
Perform other duties as assigned.
