About The Position

The Operator 1 operates manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards. After training and qualification, the operator may be assigned to different equipment or workstations according to production needs. The position is on second shift, 2:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and pays $18 per hour plus a $1.00-per-hour shift differential. Overtime, including weekends, may be needed.

Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude.
Attention to detail.
General computer skills.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
Close visual work is required.
Ability to stand, walk, and use upper extremities, with occasional sitting, crouching, and bending.
Ability to climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform necessary job tasks.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Operate assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines; assist with modifying and updating procedures.
Perform basic equipment setup, changeovers, and adjustments as needed.
Monitor equipment performance and report issues to maintenance or supervision.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure product quality.
Monitor production output and identify product or process issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift for various functions.
Wear required personal protective equipment.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
