About The Position

The Operator is responsible for learning all aspects of the production operation, including loading and unloading bulk sugar, melt processing, and packaging. The role involves starting and monitoring equipment, carrying out production processes according to established procedures, performing quality control, completing required paperwork, replenishing packaging supplies, and participating in cross-functional training and assigned audits.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience troubleshooting equipment is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience operating a forklift is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start up equipment and observe it for possible malfunctions.
• Report malfunctions to a supervisor and make minor adjustments or repairs, such as opening valves.
• Execute bulk loading/unloading and packaging processes according to established processes and procedures.
• Perform quality control according to standardized processes and procedures.
• Complete all necessary paperwork according to established processes and procedures.
• Replenish packaging supplies as necessary.
• Participate in cross-functional training in all areas of operation.
• Participate in customer and federal audits as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
