About The Position

This role involves providing patient care under the supervision and direction of an RN. The technician will be responsible for various tasks including transporting specimens and equipment, assisting with patient positioning and preparation, and ensuring the operating room is clean and prepared for procedures. The position requires maintaining clinical competency and assisting with stocking and maintaining supplies.

Requirements

Demonstrates clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Able to perform several tasks in an organized manner.
Completion of high school or its equivalent.
Successful completion of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Provides patient care under the supervision and direction of an RN.
Responds quickly to requests to transport specimens or equipment.
Assist with equipment procurement, transport, and set up for room preparation.
Transports patients, specimens, and labs with appropriate documentation.
Assist with patient positioning and prepping.
Assist with OR Room turnover.
Following established, procedure for cleaning suites between procedures.
Starts clean-up as directed by the RN to expedite room turnover.
Moving equipment to proper location.
Maintains clinical competency appropriate to the service provided, needs of age groups served, and specific competencies.
Transports patients, assist with surgical preps, assists with positioning, cleans stretchers and surgical rooms according to Policies and Procedures and Standards.
Assists in housekeeping duties as deemed necessary to include cleaning surgical tables, mayo stands, overhead lights, surgical beds and mopping floors.
Monitors and Maintains supplies.
Stocking/Monitoring of Blanket and Fluid warmers.
Stocking of wash stations and linen carts.
Removal/Emptying of cardboard box containers.
Ensuring Basin/carts are available for all active OR rooms.
Stretchers/beds with O2 are available for active OR rooms.
Helping with putting instruments and supplies (ability to lift >25lbs).
