About The Position

The Utility Operations Worker plays a vital role in supporting plant operations by providing coverage across multiple production areas, including Line Lead, Packaging Technician, Material Handler, Onion Prep, and Separator roles. This position ensures smooth workflow and consistent product quality by stepping in where needed to maintain production efficiency. Key responsibilities include operating and adjusting production and packaging equipment, handling raw and finished materials, assisting with line setup and sanitation, and following all safety and quality procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will require a working schedule of Monday - Friday, 3pm to 11pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and work in different departments as needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic mechanical understanding or interest in learning how machines operate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, food production, or warehouse work is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support by filling in for key roles including Line Lead, Packaging Technician, Material Handler, Onion Prep, and Separator as needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Operate, set up, and adjust production and packaging equipment in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
  • Monitor machinery performance, troubleshoot minor issues, and report maintenance or operational concerns promptly.
  • Assist in preparing, sorting, and processing raw onions, including end-cutting, peeling, slicing, and separating product to meet quality specifications.
  • Handle, transport, and stage raw materials and finished goods using forklifts or manual methods while maintaining accurate inventory and documentation.
  • Maintain proper supply levels for batter, breading, oil, and packaging materials to support continuous production flow.
  • Perform line cleaning, sanitation, and general housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety policies, and quality procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, line leads, and supervisors to help with production goals.
  • Participate in training and cross-functional learning to stay proficient in multiple production areas.
