About The Position

The City of Webster's Public Works Department seeks an Operations Technology (O.T.) Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize the software, hardware, and data systems that support municipal infrastructure and Public Works field operations. This position oversees computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), geographic information systems (GIS), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems; troubleshoots hardware, mobile device, and software issues; and recommends technology improvements to increase operational efficiency. Additional duties include providing user training, managing access controls, backups, and data protection, and coordinating system upgrades with IT staff, vendors, software developers, and contractors. The O.T. Administrator reports to the Director of Public Works and coordinates with IT staff to ensure system integrity and compliance with IT protocols.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of professional experience in IT administration, OT administration, systems administration, or municipal public works technology support is required.
  • Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License
  • Proficiency in CMMS, GIS, or SCADA software, database management, and specialized Public Works tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and implement new systems.
  • Effective communication across departments.
  • Ability to exercise independent analytical judgment.
  • Ability to prepare technical operating protocols.
  • Ability to monitor program or project budget expenditures.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience may be substituted, including demonstrated experience in analysis, installation, technical support, and system administration.
  • Valid certification in CMMS, GIS, or SCADA systems.
