About The Position

This position requires a high school graduate or equivalent, with a preference for courses in basic electricity. The applicant must enroll in and complete the Northwest Lineman's College General Utility Worker Program within two years. The role involves outside work under various weather conditions and subject to irregular hours. A valid Class "A Restricted" or equivalent driver's license is mandatory, along with passing required federal examinations and road tests. The technician must be able to accurately complete reports using various software and Microsoft Office Suite products. Additionally, the employee is required to reside within a twenty-five (27) mile radius of the reporting location on the Delmarva Peninsula. The job also requires passing pre-employment and ongoing physical examinations and drug/alcohol tests as per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and the ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds, along with bending, stooping, reaching, and extending the body.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Class "A Restricted" or equivalent driver's license.
  • Pass written examination and road test as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to accurately complete required reports using various software and Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Must reside within a twenty-five (27) mile radius of the reporting location and on the Delmarva Peninsula.
  • Pass a physical examination and drug/alcohol test prior to employment.
  • Continue to pass physical examinations and drug/alcohol tests required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, extend the body, and lift various objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Courses in basic electricity.
  • Six (6) months' experience in electrical field.
  • Experience in warehousing and handling of materials.
