Operations Technician I (HVAC)
About The Position
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Service Technician installs, repairs, and operates equipment supporting Polygon US customer services, including Temporary Climate Solutions and Emergency Drying Services. The role is expected to demonstrate Polygon’s values of Integrity, Excellence, and Empathy. The technician sets up, maintains, and demobilizes temporary climate-control equipment at project sites. When not assigned to projects, the technician uses available time to maintain equipment and prepare it for upcoming projects. The position includes required Polygon-provided training to be completed within the first six months of employment.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to perform duties that are physical in nature.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and travel on short notice, sometimes for extended durations, typically one to three weeks.
- Complete required training within the first six months, including OSHA 10-hour general industry training; DOT physical and certification; forklift and aerial lift certification; GHS safety data sheet understanding; hazard communication for general industry; trailer load securement and safety; Electrical Safe Work Practices; Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout Tagout); Arc Flash; and basic psychometrics.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of technical school or two years of on-the-job experience in a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and demobilize temporary climate-control equipment on project sites.
- Maintain and prepare equipment for upcoming projects during downtime between assigned projects.
- Complete Polygon-provided training requirements within the first six months of employment.
- Travel on short notice, sometimes for extended periods, typically one to three weeks.
- Work overtime when needed.
