Operations Technician I (HVAC)
About The Position
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Service Technician installs, repairs, and operates equipment supporting Polygon US customer services, including Temporary Climate Solutions and Emergency Drying Services. The role demonstrates Polygon’s values of Integrity, Excellence, and Empathy. The technician sets up, maintains, and demobilizes temporary climate control equipment at project sites. When not assigned to a project, the technician uses downtime to maintain and prepare equipment for upcoming projects. Polygon-provided training requirements must be completed within the first six months of employment.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to perform duties that are physical in nature.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Willingness to travel on short notice, sometimes for extended periods, typically one to three weeks.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of two years of technical school or two years of on-the-job experience in a related field is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and demobilize temporary climate control equipment on project sites.
- Use downtime between assigned projects to maintain and prepare equipment for upcoming projects.
- Complete Polygon-provided training requirements within the first six months of employment, including OSHA 10-hour general industry training, DOT physical and certification, forklift and aerial lift certification, GHS safety data sheet understanding, hazard communication, trailer load securement and safety, electrical safe work practices, lockout/tagout, arc flash, and basic psychometrics.
