About The Position

The Operations Team Member plays a critical role in the execution of sports events, tournaments, and day-to-day facility operations at Publix Sports Park. The position focuses on ensuring that fields, courts, and facility areas are prepared, operational, clean, and professionally presented. Responsibilities include event setup and breakdown, facility and grounds support, logistical assistance during tournaments, and helping transition venue spaces between games and events. This is a hands-on role for someone interested in sports and gaining experience in sports event and facility management.

Requirements

Interest or experience in sports management, event operations, parks and recreation, or facility logistics.
Willingness to learn tournament and athletic facility needs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team during high-volume weekends and large tournaments.
Reliability, attention to detail, and a customer-service focus.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to paint, clean equipment, and safely handle chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.

Responsibilities

Maintain the facility's overall appearance and cleanliness, including parking lots, walkways, and flower beds.
Operate utility carts and monitor trash bins.
Assist maintenance staff with light maintenance, minor repairs, equipment touchups, and securing facility assets.
Maintain, monitor, and repair playing surfaces, goals, benches, fences, and scoreboards.
Manage and organize facility inventory, including equipment, signage, and supplies.
Complete post-event checklists and assist with venue breakdown, reset, and preparation for the next day's events or practices.
Support the setup, execution, and teardown of tournaments, leagues, and special events.
Set up and remove signage, tents, benches, hydration stations, tables, goals, water coolers, and other sport-specific equipment.
Help transition venue spaces between games and events, including installing temporary fencing and pitching mounds and moving soccer goals.
Ensure facility readiness before, during, and after events by checking cleanliness, safety, and operational flow.
Keep walkways and flower beds clear of weeds, grass, trash, water, and ice.
Provide on-the-ground event support to staff, officials, and teams during competitions.
Communicate with the Facility Manager and operations team about daily priorities, tasks, and schedule changes.
