About The Position

The Operations Team Leader works across operational areas, including the sawmill, planer mill, kilns, and shipping, but not Maintenance. The role requires leading by example, promoting West Fraser and Whitehouse goals and policies, holding oneself and others accountable, and supporting safe, results-oriented operations. The successful candidate should be interested in future growth opportunities within the company. Requirements

Have or be willing to obtain forklift, front end loader, and skid steer qualifications.
Have above-average oral and written communication skills.
Work well with orders while giving directions and instructions.
Understand personal limitations and know when to seek assistance.
Have mechanical aptitude and analytical abilities.
Be willing to work varying shifts, including combinations of days and nights for protracted periods.
Be results driven and goal oriented, with a strong work ethic and desire to produce results.

Responsibilities

Understand and promote West Fraser goals and expectations.
Abide by and hold other employees accountable to West Fraser and Whitehouse policies and procedures.
Lead by example and hold oneself and others accountable for actions and decisions.
Work interchangeably across the sawmill, planer mill, kilns, and shipping; Maintenance is excluded.
Perform department safety and environmental inspections.
Follow, maintain, and promote changes that benefit the department.
Contribute to continuous process improvement.
Follow through and complete tasks as instructed.
