About The Position

Trivium Packaging is a global leader in metal packaging, seeking an Operations Team Leader to oversee daily activities in Safety, Quality, and Production/Operations. This role involves driving improvements, resolving issues, managing team members, ensuring quality standards, and leading Lean Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and costs. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in a related field or five years of experience as a lead or supervisor in manufacturing.
  • Experience in employee screening, performance review, counseling, training, and development.
  • Measurement of performance to goals and standards.
  • Systems and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing people and promoting teamwork, including highly skilled technicians.
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication, training, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to lead a team, coach, train, mentor, and facilitate job tasks.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • At least seven years of mechanical/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work experience in metal manufacturing.
  • Kaizen / Lean Six Sigma training and work environments.
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Applications).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of Safety, Quality, and Production/Operations.
  • Work with Process Technical Manager, Quality Manager, Logistics, and other managers to drive improvements and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate administrative tasks for the team, including attendance and personal issues.
  • Ensure visual and dimensional quality by monitoring lines, reviewing production data, and communicating with quality control.
  • Act as an expert on the line/equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Teams to drive out waste and reduce operation costs.
  • Work closely with crew team members and independently when required.
  • Analyze and react to basic mechanical problems, and coach/train team members towards problem resolution.
  • Assess, train, discipline, and mentor team members.
  • Maintain Ardagh Core Values, and LSS principles (5S, TPM, SMED, 8D).
  • Accountable for safety, quality, and production in conjunction with crew team members.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for team members and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Empower team members to make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Conduct job-specific training and development, ensuring understanding of equipment operations and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain quality and efficiency targets in production.
  • Oversee all critical quality parameters of the process.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to safely and effectively run production lines.
  • Handle production and quality reports, and account for downtime and potential problem areas.
  • Direct production personnel, including scheduling, time and attendance, and policy administration.
  • Provide accurate production reporting, HFI, downtime, and MRO.
  • Maintain inventory of parts needed to run lines efficiently.
  • Perform all required CVP (quality system) surveillance checks.
  • Responsible for new equipment installation, equipment overhauls, and other assigned projects.
  • Provide relief for Mechanical Team Members and/or other personnel for breaks.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze equipment problems.
  • Follow housekeeping schedules and audits.
  • Schedule and organize PM activities and repairs.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $82,000 - $103,000
