About The Position

Millstone Medical Outsourcing is a fast-growing, fast-paced medical service provider for top Orthopedic companies. Millstone's business focus is sterile and non-sterile packaging of medical devices. Millstone also engages in other activities, such as mechanical inspection and assembly, designed to meet the outsourcing requirements of medical device manufacturers seeking to reduce costs while maintaining high levels of quality, accuracy, and timeliness. We are FDA and ISO registered and employ a detailed internal quality system to ensure ISO compliance. This is a leadership position responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing the work of individual operators. The role involves managing people and processes to meet department safety goals, quality standards, and production schedules through daily leader standard work. It also requires cross-functional collaboration with quality, engineering, IT, and program management to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement, as well as working with other internal stakeholders to meet client-specific requirements. The position is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to achieve cultural and performance standards, and requires a general understanding of all organizational areas to work effectively with experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in an Engineering discipline with at least two years Manufacturing Operations experience. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Supervisory experience is a must

  • Basic computer competencies, including spreadsheets and word processing as well as Outlook for e-mail use

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience with sterile and non-sterile packaging of medical devices
  • Experience in highly skilled assembly and packaging processes is a plus
  • Additional proficiency with computer printers and/or label printing software would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage all people and processes to meet the department safety goals, quality standards, and production schedules through the execution of daily leader standard work
  • Work cross functionally with quality, engineering, IT and program management within the organization to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement
  • Work with various internal stake holders, including other supervisors, to meet the specific requirements of each unique, individual client
  • Planning, scheduling, and directing the work of individual operators
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to achieve cultural and performance standards
  • Possessing a general understanding of all areas within the organization and the ability to work with the experts within those areas
  • All other duties as assigned
