About The Position

Pratt & Whitney’s East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO) is looking for a Supervisor (M3) to help lead first shift operations at our East Hartford repair station. In addition, the person in this role will be a key contributor in meeting all EH&S, Customer, Quality, and financial goals within the EHRO business.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Business Operations Management, Engineering, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in STEM field; Engineering, Business or Supply Chain
  • Personnel management experience, ideally within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment
  • Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals
  • Demonstrated experience in P&L management, with a track record of delivering financial performance.
  • Aftermarket Aerospace and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers

Responsibilities

  • Driving the organization to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for Compliance, Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery; work with functional leaders, and internal staff to meet production requirements and assure the cell operates in a productive fashion consistent with changing business needs.
  • Handle all operational aspects of the organization together with and reporting to the Operations Manager.
  • Drive overall production to meet goals, coordinating with Material, Customer Support, Quality and Engineering daily.
  • Work independently in a complex, fast-paced environment with ability to make multi-functional decisions quickly.
  • Provide effective communication across the cells, and provide leadership development and performance feedback to a team of skilled bargaining unit employees.
  • Obtain the necessary resources (equipment, manpower, etc.) to effectively meet long range and near-term goals.
  • Review staffing and training needs for assigned personnel as well as hiring, retaining and developing new key technical talent.
  • Maintain a constant understanding of the status of Production work, to ensure resources are correctly allocated.
  • Maintain compliance to safety and quality systems and define robust RCCA for any audit findings on time.
