Requirements

  • In person interviews require the candidate to be clean shaven, no exceptions
  • Extensive knowledge of crane, coke unit, and heavy equipment
  • Experience in bulk materials, conveyor systems and heavy equipment
  • Experience interacting with an hourly, salary and client based workforce
  • Proven ability to focus on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers
  • Experience with OSHA guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • High School Diploma required
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Efficient with standard office software programs (SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook, Managers Plus)
  • Must be able to multi-task and set priorities
  • Ability to manage confidential issues

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees follow proper safety rules and operating procedures
  • Conduct daily audits of the overhead bridge crane and DCU
  • Issue frequent work orders to ensure the system is properly maintained
  • Coordinate communications to third parties involved
  • Respond to any unsafe or out of place event or condition immediately
  • Complete and file all necessary documentation as required including JHA’s, SHAPS, permits, log entries, safety meetings, audit sheets, daily check sheets
  • Assist in training of employees
  • Conduct and document frequent Safety and toolbox meetings
  • Maintain company objectives and expectations in the absence of the Operations Manager
  • Work closely with Operations to keep production levels high, systems
