About The Position

The primary role of the Operations Supervisor is to supervise the day-to-day activities of the operations staff.

Requirements

  • Four years of supervisory experience in the waste and/or recycling industry required.
  • Current and valid Class D license with clean driving record.
  • Superior supervisory techniques.
  • Refuse, recycling and composting-related services and tools.
  • Modern office practices and procedures including the use of standard computer programs such as Tower, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Search Engines, Onboard Routing System and Google Maps.
  • Geography of the City of Casa Grande and surrounding areas, including assigned route.
  • Leadership and mentorship tactics and best practices.
  • Actively listen to, and empathize with, customer and employees’ concerns.
  • Employ de-escalation and conflict-resolution methodologies.
  • Mentor and maintain a positive attitude with customers and employees.
  • Proactively establish trust and credibility with customers and employees by maintaining accountability.
  • Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst employees.
  • Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.
  • Effectively and concisely communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Learn the products and services offered by Universal Waste Systems, Inc.
  • Provide guidance and expert advice on waste-related information.

Nice To Haves

  • Class B license a plus.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the staff and collections of refuse and recycling for an assigned area.
  • Ensure the adherence of company work and safety rules.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees by creating and supporting a safety-first culture.
  • Work in conjunction with customers, ownership, maintenance, customer service, dispatch and sustainability departments to ensure seamless customer interactions.
  • Use related computer systems to track and improve routing, productivity and customer experience.
