Requirements

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a distribution/construction operations trade and/or five to ten years of experience in supervision of direct reports
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with employees, contractors and community groups
  • Ability to attain a good working knowledge of union contracts

Nice To Haves

  • Formal engineering or gas distribution field experience
  • Technical training beyond high school
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Supervisory tasks in Gas Operations related to construction, design, planning, and scheduling for WPS gas transmission and distribution systems
  • Collaborate with the contracted companies in order to achieve the best results for projects throughout their assigned area
  • Ensure the safety of employees, customers, and contractors during all work applications
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct safety meetings to communicate safety requirements, updates and training required
  • Manage work assignments to minimize overtime and costs while maintaining optimal customer service
  • Motivate and engage employees to increase efficiency, productivity, availability, safety performance and core expectations
  • Evaluate performance, coach, develop and conduct annual performance reviews with individual employees
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, contractors, and community groups
  • The Operations Supervisor may be rotated to other work areas/functions within Customer Operations in order to address workload demands, gain valuable experience, and to develop an understanding and appreciation for other parts of the organization
