The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of unionized employees on a day shift (Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on-site) at the Plant 1 in Longueuil. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role is responsible for employee management, activity coordination, and follow-up on priorities related to incoming inspection of purchased parts and the review of non-conforming parts. The supervisor also serves as the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, as well as for employees and the leadership team. This is a full-time day shift position from Monday to Friday based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of quality standards and inspection processes
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Team player with autonomy and strong ethical standards
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • DEC with 3–7 years of experience or equivalent supervisory experience
  • Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations on the day shift
  • Ensure achievement of key performance indicators (ESS, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, etc.)
  • Manage unionized employees in accordance with the collective agreement
  • Prevent health, safety, and quality incidents through proper practices, audits, inspections, investigations, and RCCA processes
  • Manage productivity while ensuring alignment with operational priorities and objectives
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop overtime management plans based on operational needs
  • Establish work schedules and manage vacation planning
  • Support organizational changes and ensure workforce flexibility
  • Prepare and communicate annual performance evaluations
