Take ownership of daily operations in a fast-paced start-up, lead and support your team, and ensure safe, reliable service for students and families. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work alongside a dedicated support team, including Talent Acquisition, dispatch, training, and safety, using Voyago’s proven processes and tools to make a real impact in your community. You’ll take ownership of daily logistics, support start-up launch activities, and empower your team to deliver exceptional service, all while leveraging guidance and expertise from Voyago’s experienced support team, to make a real impact on your community.

Requirements

  • You are safety-focused. Keeping others safe is your top priority.
  • You are a skilled driver. You have a clean driving record and hold a valid "B" license (preferred).
  • You meet all compliance requirements. You can obtain a clean criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector screening.
  • You know your region. Your knowledge of the Kingston region and surrounding communities is strong.
  • You work independently and confidently. You take initiative and can manage priorities without constant supervision.
  • You communicate effectively. Clear, professional communication is second nature to you.
  • You have relevant education and experience. Post-secondary education or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • You are tech-savvy. Comfortable using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • You excel in customer service. Your proven ability to deliver exceptional service sets you apart.
  • You’re available to support our team. Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • You bring valuable experience. Student transportation experience is a plus, and experience with start-ups or dynamic, growing environments is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate staff to ensure drivers meet all Student Transportation standards and contract requirements.
  • Maintain coverage during staff absences, vacations, or high-demand periods.
  • Conduct site visits, monitor performance, review incident/collision reports, and provide coaching or follow-up as needed.
  • Support driver development through onboarding, training, ride-alongs, performance feedback, and safety meetings.
  • Facilitate employee engagement, team meetings, and maintain strong relationships with your team.
  • Step in to cover school runs when required, ensuring uninterrupted service.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager and Talent Acquisition Specialist to support high-volume staffing for the new division.
  • Assist in onboarding, orientation, and licensing processes for new drivers.
  • Help implement start-up processes, including route assignments, schedules, and operational workflows.
  • Maintain operational standards during launch, ensuring efficiency and smooth hand-offs between teams.
  • Support maintenance and cleaning of buses, ensuring a safe, presentable fleet.
  • Coordinate with Health & Safety teams to schedule and track required training.
  • Oversee incident documentation, ghosting reports, deficiency reports, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor employee licenses and certifications from start to finish, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Track and report KPIs to the Operations Manager and assist with performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate timesheets, payroll inputs, and operational records.
  • Ensure schedules are maintained and coverage is provided at all times.
  • Serve as the main operational contact for support teams including HR, maintenance, and health & safety.
  • Be available for divisional emergencies, which may include holidays and weekends.
  • Support operations during high-pressure scenarios to ensure uninterrupted service.
