About The Position

Our Kingsville Distribution Center, a 150,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking an Operations Specialist - Farms to join our team. The essential function of this position is to investigate the outbound quality at the shipping doors and determine if product meets the requirement. This position is for our new berry cold storage facility located on highway 77. This position is for a current vacancy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of warehouse order selecting experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong communication, reading, and writing skills in English; basic math proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and associated stress.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Creative, adaptable, and able to manage unexpected issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal tactfully and respectfully with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a team-oriented mindset in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Position requires long periods of standing and walking as well as use of step ladders to inspect stacked pallets of product.
  • Position requires walking and bending on a regular basis.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in the produce industry preferred.
  • Produce experience preferred.
  • Experience with NAV, JDA, or similar systems an asset.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and label incoming shipments; verify quality, quantity, and accuracy of invoices.
  • Rotate and store products properly according to size, date, and quantity, ensuring warehouse organization and cleanliness.
  • Operate forklifts and scan guns to transport, count, and record inventory movements.
  • Conduct and document quality audits, inspections, and non-conformance reports per company and SQF standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate warehouse, shipping, and inventory records; reconcile physical and system (NAV/ERP) inventories.
  • Pull, stage, and return production materials as requested; ensure timely supply and proper rotation of stock.
  • Inspect and approve product quality at receiving, production, and shipping stages to meet customer specifications.
  • Support commodity planning, daily allocations, and rework coordination; ensure communication between Production, Sales, and Shipping.
  • Train, coach, and assist team members; provide coverage for absences or vacations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal departments regarding shipments, temperatures, shortages, and load statuses.
  • Monitor and file all safety, quality, and shipping documentation accurately and promptly.
