About The Position

The Operations Specialist, Crushing is the primary contact for all technical product support within the Crushing and Mineral Processing Division. This person is customer-facing, collaborating with all levels of our sales and services organizations. Working with Toromont Crushing’s key suppliers to provide internal and customer facing product technical support, product and service training, new equipment installation & commissioning support and warranty support. This person is also relied on by our field service technicians for technical leadership, support and training relating to our crushing & screening offering. The Operations Specialist also provides project management and on-site leadership for complex and/or large scope equipment deliveries.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in crushing & screening equipment as a field service technician, millwright, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of crushing & screening equipment preventive maintenance, repair, rebuild and overhaul methods and procedures.
  • Strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy collaborating with, coaching and leading others.
  • Self-directed/self-starter and flexible team player with the ability to work independently with high integrity and initiative.
  • Effective time-management and planning.
  • Adaptable to quickly changing schedules and priorities in a deadline driven environment.
  • Customer centric with a sense of urgency and the ability to maintain trusted customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel across Canada and work in remote locations for up to 3 weeks at a time.
  • A valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise for equipment on-site delivery, installation and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, sales & service groups.
  • Prepare and deliver technical training programs (classroom and/or hands-on) to internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical expertise to support new equipment design and build specifications.
  • Liaison with Toromont’s field service teams and key suppliers to support warranty claims.
  • Prepare and implement new and used equipment inspection protocols.
  • Assist and/or execute new or used equipment inspection protocols.
  • Prepare and implement inspection and repair protocols.
  • Review, communicate and follow up on key supplier technical and safety bulletins to ensure supplier recommendations are followed across Toromont’s fleet base.
  • Remain current on market trends and recognize opportunities for further business growth.
  • Prepare and coordinate any Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Participate in safe and environmentally sound work behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policy/Programs and best practices.
  • Support new product launches and/or special marketing campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned
