About The Position

Sandvik Mining and Construction USA LLC is looking for an Application Specialist – Crushing and Screening (Job Code JR0097785) in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is responsible for providing technical sales support and solutions to customers for Sandvik’s line of crushing and screening products for use in the mining industry. The position involves developing sales growth opportunities, assisting customers in recognizing the value of Sandvik’s products, and providing technical expertise internally and externally. It also includes delivering technical presentations, field sales support, organizing training, creating business development plans, conducting site audits, and providing performance metrics for proposals. The role contributes to strategic plans for product line expansion, coordinates market data for R&D, and participates in global and regional initiatives. Additionally, the Application Specialist will draft quotations, analyze project profitability, provide training, compile tender documentation, and ensure product specifications meet customer requirements. The role serves as a subject matter expert on crushing and screening applications and equipment performance, and assists factories with field-testing and trials of new products.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field
Three (3) years of experience as Application Specialist, Application Analyst, Application Engineer, or Sales Engineer in the mining industry.
The three (3) years of experience must have included providing technical sales and developing technical solutions for crushing and screening equipment products, including the selection and recommendation of crushing and screening products for mining operations, as well as experience drafting quotations for large mining projects through engineering, procurement, and construction management companies.

Responsibilities

Develop opportunities to meet sales growth goals and provide application solutions.
Assist customers to recognize the value of utilizing Sandvik’s crushing and screening tools and technology in large-scale mining operations.
Provide technical knowledge, advice, and support internally and externally to resolve requests regarding crushing and screening product and application issues and to maximize the benefits derived from Sandvik’s mining products and services.
Provide technical presentations and field sales support, including providing leads, assistance on sales calls, and providing competitive intelligence to account managers and distributors.
Organize product and application training for sales and application personnel for crushing and screening products.
Create business development plans and targets for the crushing and screening product range in collaboration with the Sales Manager, including the introduction of new crushing and screening products into the market.
Conduct crushing and screening site audits, including modeling and projections.
Provide estimated equipment performance metrics for proposals to account managers and distributors.
Provide input into strategic plans for the continued expansion of the crushing and screening product line for all relevant stakeholders within the sales area.
Coordinate data from the market for analysis, research, and design engineering for the successful development of new crushing and screening product offerings.
Participate in the development and implementation of plans and actions in accordance with global and regional initiatives and guidelines.
Draft quotations for crushing and screening equipment and analyzing profitability of new projects.
Provide training and education on the product range, assisting with the compilation of tender documentation, pricing strategies, and the supply of marketing material to support sales efforts.
Ensure product performance levels and specifications meet customer requirements.
Serve as the subject matter expert on crushing and screening applications and equipment performance projections.
Assist factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
Monitor test results for new products to implement improvement of the product.
Coordinate promotional and marketing material in conjunction with marketing department.
