About The Position

Performs supportive administrative, technical, and professional work for the Chief of Police and the Administration Division. Assists with fleet, recruitment, background investigation processes, community engagement events and other administrative functions. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief of Police. This position supports the department’s technical operations and recruitment efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience in law enforcement operations or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, internal and external customers, and town officials.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative, technical, and professional support to the Chief of Police and Administration Division.
  • Assists with technical operations related to fleet management and equipment installation.
  • Assists with recruitment efforts, applicant background investigations and community engagement efforts.
  • Assists with participating in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Chief of Police.
