The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol. This position is responsible for conducting audits and reviews of licensees and registrants under the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and the International Registration Plan (IRP), respectively. This function involves reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating mileage and fuel records and recordkeeping systems to determine the accuracy of reported data and compliance with regulatory requirements. These audits and reviews are documented through preparation of comprehensive working papers and reports. As part of our customer outreach function, this position is also responsible for providing advice and assistance to new and existing licensees and registrants regarding proper recordkeeping techniques and systems and other regulatory issues concerning IFTA and IRP.
