Operations Research Analyst
About The Position
Guidehouse is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to assist with modeling and simulation for base resiliency and wargaming. The role involves supporting the development of optimization models for resource allocation, preparing visualizations and dashboards for leadership decisions, and gathering/cleaning data for analysis. The analyst will participate in wargame capstone events, document methodologies, and assist in risk analysis and performance metric development. This position also supports the integration of simulation outputs into enterprise models and collaborates with senior analysts on experiment design, while also providing administrative support for analytics projects.
Requirements
- Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research or STEM field.
- Experience with Excel and willingness to learn simulation tools.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Nice To Haves
- Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred.
- Exposure to Python or R for analytics.
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI dashboards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn DoD data platforms and processes.
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability.
- Familiarity with DoD or Air Force data environments.
- Understanding of risk analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of simulation software.
- Experience with data cleaning and preparation.
- Interest in wargaming and optimization methodologies.
- Interest in AI/ML applications.
- Basic knowledge of optimization algorithms.
- Exposure to cloud-based analytics tools.
- Experience with collaborative tools like MS Teams.
