About The Position

MTSI is committed to supporting transitioning service members through the DoW SkillBridge Program, providing an opportunity to gain meaningful civilian work experience during the final months of active duty. This program is designed to bridge the gap between military service and the civilian workforce through structured training and hands-on, mission-aligned experience. As an Operations Research Analyst SkillBridge Fellow, you will be embedded within real teams supporting active programs that contribute to national security and some of the nation’s most technically complex challenges. Throughout the experience, you will gain exposure to MTSI’s employee-first culture, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and build the skills needed to successfully transition into a civilian career. This is a structured training experience designed to support your transition from military service to a civilian career. While many fellows are considered for full-time opportunities, offers are based on performance and business needs. Participation is subject to command approval and DoW SkillBridge eligibility requirements.

How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission: As an Operations Research Analyst with MTSI, you will be responsible to support in leveraging established pathways between the innovation ecosystem, test, evaluation, acquisitions, and sustainment. You will interact daily with Air Force innovation project managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber) supporting Department of War (DOW) customers. This position will be located in the Tucson, AZ area.

Requirements

• 5 years' experience working as a Project Manager or in a related field.
• Comprehensive understanding of the organizational mission and interfaces with intelligence, Major Commands, Air Staff, DoD laboratories, and support agencies.
• The ability to develop and give effective oral presentations and to effectively communicate in writing.
• Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in portfolio or project management in a Department of War (DOW) or industry organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist with briefing materials, narratives, and analytical products based on the direction of the Government Program Manager, tailored to address unique higher headquarters capability needs where no prior templates or established guidance exists.
• Help shape study guidance and detailed study plans to support analysis efforts, ensuring all necessary requirements to be analyzed are clearly defined.
• Serve as a liaison by effectively communicating and interfacing with prime contractors, subsystem suppliers, and relevant government stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
• Bridge communication gaps and foster collaboration between end-users, requirement writers, testers, program offices, and senior leaders to ensure alignment and effective partnerships.
• Collaborate on systems engineering activities, including acquisition risk assessment, requirements development, schedule creation and oversight, and the development and management of action items.
