About The Position

Operations Processor 5 within Cash Applications is an experienced individual contributor responsible for processing and resolving moderately complex operational transactions with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and risk awareness. This role serves as a key contributor to operational stability by independently managing exception work, applying sound judgment within established procedures, and supporting consistent service levels across payment posting, reconciliation, and reporting functions. The position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years or more of operations services related work experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience in financial operations, cash applications, or related processing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to process transactions accurately in a high-volume environment
  • Experience in cash applications or leasing/financial services operations
  • Proven ability to research and resolve exceptions independently

Responsibilities

  • Process daily cash application transactions.
  • Checks received via mail
  • Lockbox online payments
  • Electronic payments – monitoring email box and preparation of application instructions for ACH credits & Wires
  • End of Lease payments
  • Resolve exception batches
  • Review ACH Debit Authorization forms for completeness and activation
  • Monitor and resolve payments in the CAT system
  • Monitoring shared email boxes – responding to and resolving inquiries
  • Complete morning and end of day balancing activities
  • Conducts research on discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections or adjustments
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all work, meeting quality standards and service level expectations
  • Support testing or implementation of process or system changes as needed
  • Participate in process improvement efforts, reporting enhancements, or workflow updates
  • Collaborate with other U.S. Bank business lines on misdirected payments
  • Identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, or process gaps and escalate findings
  • Support cross-training efforts to maintain operational coverage and flexibility
