Morgan & Morgan is seeking an Operations Paralegal to join their Personal Injury Operations Department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable under pressure, and be responsible for various operational tasks. Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology.
  • Three to five (3-5) years paralegal experience required.
  • Paralegal degree or paralegal certification from an accredited institute of learning or similar experience.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards; personal and professional integrity, unquestioned discretion in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Accurate, thorough, and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills in both public and private settings.
  • PC Literate with a firm understanding of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Diplomacy, pragmatism and assertiveness.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced organization.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish strategic objectives by overseeing multiple project activities.
  • Provide operational oversight of attorneys, including scheduling depositions, contacting courts, coordinating with defense counsel, ensuring timely demand submissions, and advancing cases with minimal supervision.
  • Audit attorney/staff tasks and establish, enable, and execute processes to ensure proactive and efficient operations.
  • Ensure attorney cases are filed within 90 days.
  • Set deadlines for attorneys and follow up to ensure they are met.
  • Assist in the preparation and trial of lawsuits by ensuring attorneys follow all steps to advance cases.
  • Help create an SOP for best practices in advancing Personal Injury cases.
  • Conduct legal research, file management, and case progression activities.
  • Prepare experts or other witnesses; coordinate pre-trial and trial activities.
  • Contact parties and witnesses regarding trial dates and coordinate with attorneys regarding appearance and testimony.
  • Be adaptable, curious, and creatively solve problems in an evolving space, capable of managing complexity while maintaining balance.
  • Contribute to team strategic initiatives, help build shared standards and processes, and aid in fostering a positive department culture.
  • Communicate job expectations by planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
  • Present a professional and helpful appearance.
  • Assist in other areas of the department or other departments as required.
