About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Candidate will perform engineering work in preparation for assembly, test, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System in support of the Artemis program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Nice To Haves

  • At least four years of experience (for Level 2).
  • At least 10 years of experience and/or an advanced degree (for Level 3).
  • At least 15 years of experience (for Level 4).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system tests, collect and analyze data on equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment/system anomalies.
  • Initial assignments will focus on development of Work Authorization Documents to process, test and launch the SLS Rocket.
  • Apply knowledge of technical principles, vehicle processing operations concepts, ground to vehicle interfaces, and vehicle/ground system design and operation.
  • Accomplish testing & operations independently, and act as Task Team Leader for assignments involving Main Propulsion Systems and Engines.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
