About The Position

The Operations Manager serves as the operational leader for the Family Supportive Housing department, overseeing department-wide operations, staff development, program performance, compliance activities, and cross-functional coordination. This position serves as a strategic partner to the Director of Family Supportive Housing and provides leadership support to ensure consistent operations, effective service delivery, and successful program outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, human services, or a related field required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience supervising staff and leading teams
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability
  • Demonstrated experience in program oversight, performance tracking, and process improvement
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across departments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with budget management, compliance requirements, and policy development preferred
  • Experience working in affordable housing or supportive housing environments.
  • Knowledge of HUD, grant-funded programs, or resident services compliance requirements.
  • Experience with program databases, reporting systems, and performance metrics.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, supervision, and performance management support to assigned staff and supervisors within the department.
  • Ensure all staff receive the necessary training and maintain required certifications to meet program and compliance standards.
  • Prepare and present departmental reports, program outcomes, and operational updates to leadership.
  • Lead departmental planning and coordination efforts, ensuring alignment of priorities, timelines, and resources across programs.
  • Deliver Family Supportive Housing outreach services across various departments and coordinate with external agencies.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
  • Provide support in overseeing program budgets to ensure financial accountability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of existing policies and draft new policies to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Monitor program compliance requirements among team, including grant obligations, regulatory requirements, and resident service documentation standards.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination across programs to ensure consistent communication and alignment.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to staff to strengthen performance, support professional growth, and promote consistent service delivery.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development of department staff.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to support program continuity and compliance.
  • Act as the backup for the Director, supporting oversight of departmental operations in their absence.

Benefits

  • This is a full-time exempt position working approximately 40 hours per week.
  • The anticipated annual salary for this position is $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
