About The Position

The Operations Manager oversees key areas of warehouse operations to help ensure an engaged workforce, loyal customers, efficient operations, and compliance with GXO’s values and quality objectives. The role communicates with customers, vendors, and team members; guides supervisors on personnel, quality, and safety matters; manages staff development; and coordinates equipment maintenance and operational improvements. The position is scheduled for the first shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility required for planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and computerized scanner equipment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends.
• Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to reach, including overhead, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel.
• Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field.
• 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment.
• Knowledge and experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Process Improvement.
• Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL).
• Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, vendors, and team members to ensure customer commitments are met.
• Apply GXO quality policies and establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives.
• Guide supervisors on personnel, quality, and safety matters.
• Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff.
• Recommend programs to improve operations.
• Handle equipment and coordinate maintenance needs with the maintenance team.
• Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed on time.
• Adhere to and enforce safe work practices and ensure warehouse compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards and regulations.
• Monitor and enforce safety procedures across departments to maintain a safe work environment.
