About The Position

Mr. Greens has proudly grown into one of the largest privately-owned produce distributors in San Antonio, Texas. With deliveries 365-days a year, 7-days a week and multiple runs per day, Mr. Greens has set the gold standard for service. Mr. Greens serves a large variety of clients, including restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, grocery stores and retail outlets. The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective operation of the Shipping, Receiving, Transportation and Facility departments. In this role you will successfully lead all facets of managing people, performance/productivity, operating expense reduction and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 6 years professional experience with demonstrated progressive levels of management experience (with at least 4 - 5 years in operational management experience)
  • Experience in warehouse and transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of food products.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of warehouse and logistics staff, promoting a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages employee engagement and development.
  • Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement best practices in warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain operations.
  • Utilize technology and automation to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand customer needs and preferences.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Develop and manage the operations budget, monitoring expenses and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to achieve financial targets.
