About The Position

The individual will be responsible for product line P&L and will achieve key operating metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This role is responsible for achieving both KPI and CPI results through problem solving and decision making on the factory floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year college or university and three to five years related manufacturing experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have knowledge of Data Base Software, Manufacturing Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing software.
  • Must be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident ('green card' holders) or have refugee or asylee status due to ITAR and EAR compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experienced with CNC machines and equipment.
  • Familiarity with earned hours, overhead rates, and factor costs.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Responsibilities

  • Exercises direct supervision over departmental supervisors to achieve schedules, quality, and efficiency on a line-item basis.
  • Plans production schedule for the designated manufacturing area in an effort to meet sales order book. Works with production control to ensure parts, process sheets and raw materials are available.
  • Accountable for maintaining discipline in accordance with company policy and for maintaining health and safety regulations.
  • Participates in the decision-making process for improvements to reduce scrap and overall costs. Recommends suggestions that would improve the efficiency and quality of products.
  • Mentors supervisors to improve their skills and develops operator training matrix to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Follows and administers budgets determined by Plant Management. Prepares reports outlining progress as it pertains to departmental budget guidelines.
  • Utilizes the annual evaluation process as a communication tool with employees for goal setting and development programs.
