About The Position

Block by Block is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee one of our Ambassador programs. This role requires advanced client relationship management skills to manage daily district program operations and deliver continual program improvements. We're looking for someone with strong managerial skills, a great work ethic, experience supervising a team of employees, and a passion for creating a great experience. The company's mission is to make public spaces friendly and vibrant for the communities they serve by employing friendly Ambassadors to make public spaces better, including making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner. Block by Block is large enough to provide lots of opportunities, but small enough to have your work noticed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years Management Experience.
  • Expert Customer Service Skills -- Must lead by example with their friendliness and with a positive attitude.
  • Expert Judgement -- must be comfortable and competent in order to make decisions based on information available.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Expert in level technology and computer skills Must have a strong background with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Has a solid work history with at least 5-7 years of experience.
  • Has supervised a team of people.
  • Is a problem solver and innovator.
  • Strong communication and narration abilities.
  • Understands Quality Assurance and exceeds client and team expectations.
  • Has a "do what is right" mindset with strong integrity.
  • Decisive and able to make quick, effective decisions.
  • High School Diploma Required

Nice To Haves

  • College or Extended Education preferred
  • management experience in facilities operations, public space administration, security operations, hospitality management.
  • 5-7 years of experience in facilities operations management, hospitality/tourism management, event management, or public spaces administration.
  • Outgoing, positive, and personable.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys varied tasks.
  • Enjoys working outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Loves interacting with people and making their day.
  • Flexible and willing to work outside of a typical M-F, 9-5 schedule when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring and training a positive, skilled, and dependable team.
  • Adjusting the deployment of resources to match changing needs.
  • Identifying and solving problems to improve program quality.
  • Procuring and managing inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Reporting outcomes through various channels (spreadsheets, Kronos Timekeeping, Budgets).
  • Hands-on working management in the field to provide coaching, mentoring, and continuous training.
