About The Position

This position requires the possession of an Armed North Carolina Private Protective Security Board (NCPPSB) security license. The Operations Manager’s responsibilities include ensuring that security staff adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), conducting roving tours to enhance security visibility, responding to issues raised by security staff and calls for security within the building. The role also involves ensuring security staff breaks are managed for continuous coverage, reporting issues to the Security Supervisor or Security Operations Center, and ensuring employees comply with company rules, counseling and disciplining misbehavior. The Operations Manager will visit all sites to ensure operations align with policies and procedures, assist the Regional Manager with administrative and operational functions (timesheets, scheduling, staffing), and provide direct supervision to supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum age of 21 years of age
  • Must be a High School graduate or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Must have a valid and current North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License.
  • Must be licensed in an ARMED capacity and in accordance with North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 74C – Private Protective Services (NCPPSB).
  • Having a positive and professional relationship with the supervisory staff and the client.
  • Must have at least two years of security experience (may have occurred while serving in bullets below)
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to exercise courtesy, tact and diplomacy in daily contact with County employees, customers and visitors.
  • Must have an acceptable North Carolina Private Protective Services Board criminal history check that does not contain records with criminal history for which the individual was indicted on felony-level charges or convictions of offenses against moral turpitude.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly (verbally, writing, and reading) in English.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that security staff is adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Conducting roving tours of the building to enhance security visibility.
  • Responding to all problems or issues raised by security staff during their tour of duty.
  • Responding to calls for security within building.
  • Ensuring that security staff is properly relieved for breaks, and that coverage is maintained.
  • Reporting any problems or situations that arise to the Security Supervisor (mobile patrol) and/or Security Operations Center.
  • Ensuring employees comply with the Company’s employee rules and promptly counsel and discipline any employee misbehavior.
  • Visit all sites in a timely manner to ensure the day-to-day operations are being performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Regional Manager with administrative and operational functions, such as timesheets, scheduling, staffing needs, etcetera.
  • Provide direct supervision to supervisory staff.
