About The Position

The Operations Manager is charged with managing repairs, installations and daily workflow for a team of service employees. This individual will reinforce a culture that promotes safety, customer service, accountability, teamwork, quality, and continuous learning and improvement. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Regional Operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in continuous improvement activities and Lean concepts
  • 5+ years of experience managing people in a shop environment, including recruiting and development of technicians and support staff
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office expertise (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Proficiency in harvesting and interpreting data to identify trends that impact profitability
  • Use information to make strategic recommendations
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and a sense of urgency in identifying and responding to high priority situations
  • Professional attitude with ability to motivate, and lead effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in technical or business-related field
  • Operations management within the transportation or construction industry

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety at all times and with all employees
  • Develop, analyze, and review a variety of daily production reports to drive operational performance
  • Apply continuous improvement efforts across shop operations, efficiency, culture, productivity, and work quality
  • Implement training programs in conjunction with OEMs to advance technician skills and expertise
  • Drive daily production through the shop by planning for and allocating proper resources to exceed customer requirements and company revenue targets
  • Supervise staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, and providing feedback to employees
  • Oversee and develop leadership skills in shop supervision to drive performance of company productivity, culture, and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities and provide strategic recommendations for local and regional revenue growth.
  • Work with staff to understand customer dynamics, principles of negotiation, and de-escalation in resolving customer concerns.
  • Collaborate with other site managers and internal departments to develop company-wide service and productivity best practices
