About The Position

The Operations Manager will execute, direct, and coordinate the activities of the Pool Maintenance Specialists to ensure efficiency and quality in repair operations. This role involves both administrative and operational duties, including managing staff, overseeing inventory, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining client communication.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent industry work experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong logistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl in awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of swimming pool repair and maintenance preferred.
  • Three years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute, direct, and coordinate the activities of Pool Maintenance Specialists.
  • Ensure efficiency and quality in repair operations.
  • Hire and train Pool Maintenance Specialists.
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to the pool maintenance department.
  • Organize, direct, and oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of pools.
  • Model and promote a positive attitude, providing feedback and motivation to the maintenance team.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Document and manage disciplinary actions and assist with employee terminations.
  • Collaborate with other managers to coordinate activities.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for maintenance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, contracts, environmental policies, and government regulations.
  • Review and analyze expenditures and financial information to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets.
  • Manage department staff, tracking employee satisfaction, productivity, accuracy, customer feedback, and attitude.
  • Schedule and direct department meetings for communication, team building, and training.
  • Review time stamps daily and manage overtime, time off requests, and improper time reporting.
  • Manage training of employees related to safety, driving, company policies, and administrative duties.
  • Manage and direct all maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles.
  • Manage lead technicians or administrators in operational duties.
  • Manage warehouse space, monthly inventory counts, and material check-in/out.
  • Manage inventory ordering of chemicals and parts, confirming best prices and vendors.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards for swimming pool maintenance and repair.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Direct dispatching and routing activities and track transportation vehicles.
  • Handle communication with clients via phone, email, and text.
  • Manage customer assignment to routes, part replacement/delivery, and specialty service.
  • Investigate and resolve customer difficulties or problems.
  • Manage rescheduling of missed work and cover department work in the field as needed.
  • Inspect and evaluate maintenance services to ensure quality.
  • Identify and correct problems and inefficiencies in maintenance service, equipment, or skills.
  • Perform ride-alongs with technicians to evaluate job and customer service competencies and provide guidance.
