About The Position

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as an Operations Manager based in Parrish Siding (Watrous), SK. The P&H Grain Division is a comprehensive grain and crop input network, operating across approximately 45 locations in the prairie provinces, Ontario and Quebec. Our strategically positioned facilities, including grain elevators, rail sidings, inland terminals, and specialized export terminals, ensure that we effectively match producer grain with the needs of both domestic and export end users. As a full-service agri-retailer, we provide farming communities with a full range of quality crop input products and agronomic solutions, encompassing crop protection products, certified seeds, nutrients, and custom applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation of a grain elevator or retail facility
  • Through knowledge and understanding of the grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment
  • Experience in team management or supervision, demonstrating effective leadership abilities
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient computer skills with aptitude for learning and adapting to new software applications
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills including working collaboratively with other business areas and departments

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the overall performance, maintenance, and safe, efficient operations of the grain elevator facility.
  • Responsible for business development and customer service operations of the facility
  • Manage the quality control and blending of grain
  • Oversee the daily operation of the facility
  • Perform regular repair and maintenance on facility equipment
  • Supervise and develop facility operators to ensure operations are safe, efficient, and profitable
  • Provide logistical support on grain shipments to manage elevator inventory
  • Oversee all audits and safety programs
  • Assist with scheduling and hiring full-time and seasonal operational staff
  • Work collaboratively with other business areas and departments
  • Perform all operational duties required at the facility as needed
