Requirements

  • Background in non-profit, community programming, or the food sector.
  • Client-facing and program management experience.
  • People person who makes connections easily and can leverage existing partnerships.
  • Communicates clearly, builds alignment, and works effectively across teams.
  • Recognizes and resolves ambiguous or challenging situations, focusing on meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Has the initiative and drive to get the job done and can find or build the resources needed.

  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy while managing multiple priorities and delivering quality outputs.
  • Possession of a valid Class G driver’s license.
  • Readiness to travel across Toronto, Brampton & Mississauga as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong regional partnerships with food donors, logistics partners, and non-profit organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support core food redistribution mission, including Direct Delivery and Pickup, Harvest Kitchens, Feeding Our Future, and the Food Rescue App.
  • Provide staff management, including coaching, goal setting, and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service to food donor and non-profit partners by resolving inquiries and concerns.
  • Act as a regional ambassador, delivering presentations and participating in speaking engagements to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to grow Second Harvest programs and collaborate on special projects and new initiatives.
  • Assess capacity gaps and opportunities to improve food rescue operations, including Direct Delivery and Pickup Programs, the Food Rescue App, Harvest Kitchens, and Feeding Our Future.
  • Oversee ongoing reporting and data collection to support growth and optimization.
  • Support the Training and Education program by facilitating best practice workshops.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
