The Operations Manager is responsible for guiding their team with clarity, confidence, and a motivating presence, building trust through open communication, approachability, and accountability. This role champions a safe, inclusive, and performance-driven culture, promoting engagement and ensuring compliance with safety policies. The Operations Manager executes branch-level strategies aligned with company goals, plans and schedules work weekly or monthly using routing tools to meet customer demand efficiently, and manages the branch’s profit and loss, making data-driven decisions to drive profitability. They monitor KPIs including revenue, labor costs, maintenance, and safety, and partner with sales to identify and pursue growth opportunities, supporting customer retention and account growth through exceptional service. This role sets clear goals and metrics, ensuring strong follow-through and owning outcomes by holding themselves and their team accountable for results. They manage staffing levels in alignment with business needs, oversee daily and weekly scheduling of work crews, and ensure optimal route execution. Employee management includes tracking hours, managing pay approvals, overseeing payroll submission, coaching employees on performance, administering discipline when necessary, and fostering strong employee relations. The Operations Manager uses data and reporting tools to drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and growth, operating with the mindset of a business owner, solving problems independently, managing resources wisely, and planning for long-term success. They build strong, positive relationships with employees, customers, and cross-functional partners, serving as the face of their branch in the community and with clients. Collaboration with HR, Finance, Sales, Maintenance, and other departments is key to aligning operations, supporting initiatives, and ensuring service delivery. The role also involves promoting and representing the SCA brand with pride, helping to communicate the value of our services and maintain a high standard of professionalism. Regular and predictable attendance is required, meaning the ability to consistently report to work on time and as scheduled, with minimal unexcused absences, and being present and prepared to work throughout assigned shifts, reliably adhering to start times, breaks, and end times. This position is supervisory, responsible for the direct and/or indirect supervision of workers, including assigning work, monitoring performance, providing training and guidance, conducting performance evaluations, approving timecards, and participating in hiring, corrective action, and employment decisions as appropriate.
