About The Position

Holland Power Services Inc., a subsidiary of Alectra Inc., is a leading power line restoration company in North America with operations in New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, and New England. We specialize in emergency power restoration, working closely with utility contractors to ensure swift and efficient recovery during storm events. We are currently seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to join our team, based out of our head office in Fredericton (Hanwell), New Brunswick. This role is responsible for the operational leadership of storm restoration activities, ensuring workforce and fleet readiness at all times and the effective mobilization and deployment of crews in support of utility partners across multiple jurisdictions. In addition to storm operations, this position will support our Project Services team through a field-based advisory role, working closely with the General Foreman to guide execution, reinforce construction standards, and support safety and quality outcomes. Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must be available to work a flexible 24/7 schedule in response to storm events.

Requirements

  • Certified Powerline Technician (equivalent required), or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in powerline construction, maintenance, or storm restoration; distribution experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in utility, construction, or storm response environments.
  • Strong understanding of storm operations, crew deployment, and field logistics.
  • Extensive project services experience with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to field leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and operational systems for workforce management (call out system experience is an asset), reporting, and documentation in both field and office environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended deployments in response to storm event

Responsibilities

  • Lead storm restoration operations, including crew mobilization and deployment across multiple jurisdictions

  • Maintain alignment with safety standards in collaboration with Corporate and Field Safety teams
  • Act as a key operational contact for crews, clients, and internal teams
