About The Position

The Operations Manager – Service Shop (Transportation Parts) is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a service and parts shop environment, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service delivery, and strong financial performance. This role manages parts inventory, service technicians, and operational processes while driving improvements in safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines operational leadership with strong analytical and process-oriented thinking to optimize performance. Location: This position will be fully onsite in Bentonville, AR

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and 1 year experience supervising employees in heavy duty truck and trailer or equivalent maintenance experience OR Associate's Degree in Business or related field and 2 years experience supervising employees in heavy duty truck and trailer or equivalent maintenance experience OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Refurb/Service Shop Area Manager OR Diesel, automotive or heavy equipment maintenance technical certifications (e.g. ASE, Air Conditioning, DOT Brake, DOT Preventative Maintenance); and 2 years supervising employees in heavy duty truck and trailer or equivalent maintenance experience

Responsibilities

  • Leading parts operations through supplier partnership, engaging national and regional suppliers to improve availability, cost control, and service performance
  • Enabling field locations to manage inventory effectively by establishing best practices, control measures, and standard processes that fit day‑to‑day shop operations
  • Driving standardization and leverage national programs, ensuring parts strategies are consistently applied while balancing local operational needs
  • Implementing inventory dashboards and performance metrics to provide visibility, identify opportunities, and support data‑driven decisions across the network.
  • Managing parts inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure availability, cost control, and minimal downtime.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams including procurement, logistics, and finance to align operations with business objectives.
  • Analyzing operational data to identify inefficiencies, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
