About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an Operations Manager – Industrial Tooling who is passionate about delivering best-in-class service, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence. This role supports day-to-day Profit Center operations with a strong focus on industrial tooling expertise and application support, exceptional customer service for industrial and contractor clients, employee development and engagement, tool fleet utilization, calibration, and asset quality, and operational efficiency and profit optimization. This role partners closely with the Profit Center Manager to ensure consistent execution of Sunbelt standards while maintaining a safe, organized, and tool-focused operation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in industrial tooling, equipment rental, or construction environments
  • 1+ year of leadership experience in operations, service, or team management
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Working knowledge of industrial tooling (e.g., torque tools, pumps, generators, specialty equipment)
  • Ability to align tooling solutions with customer applications
  • Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to improve processes and drive performance outcomes
  • Strong communication and customer engagement skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and ERP systems (Wynne or similar preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Profit Center Manager to maintain high standards across industrial tooling operations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and all safety protocols related to tool usage and handling
  • Deliver industry-leading customer service to industrial, manufacturing, and construction clients
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on industrial tooling applications and rental solutions
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on tooling knowledge, safety, and service excellence
  • Improve tooling readiness, calibration compliance, and turnaround time
  • Manage tool fleet quality, repair cycles, and associated maintenance costs
  • Develop clear performance goals and drive accountability through ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Identify efficiencies in tool distribution, staging, and customer delivery processes
  • Oversee yard and facility operations to ensure safe handling, storage, and organization of tooling assets
  • Conduct safety audits, equipment checks, and routine inspections with a focus on tooling integrity
  • Support HR functions including scheduling, payroll, and team documentation
  • Clearly communicate billing, rental terms, and tool usage expectations to customers
  • Assist customers in selecting the right tools and solutions based on project requirements
  • Monitor tooling inventory levels and coordinate with leadership on demand forecasting
  • Lead daily operational meetings focused on safety, priorities, and performance metrics
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-first work environment
