About The Position

This position plans, organizes, and controls the C-17 Operational Training Sites from conceptual stages, proposals and through program life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. The role is responsible for managing the C-17 Training System Operations and Maintenance Program, including all C-17 Training Sites. This involves managing day-to-day progress through constant interaction with site managers, staff, instructors, engineers, technicians, government representatives, and training support personnel. The position also involves leading, mentoring, and evaluating program staff at various CONUS and OCONUS C-17 training sites, applying change, risk, and resource management to complex programs, and ensuring compliance with Union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), including participation in grievance, arbitration, and renegotiation activities. Collaboration with functional areas such as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, logistics, cybersecurity, and operations is essential to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. The role contributes to overall program management discipline evolution, analyzes and resolves problems using project management tools, provides technical expertise and training to other CAE USA departments, maintains teaming associations with subcontractors, and manages subcontractor performance. Additionally, the position involves preparing and conducting technical and management meetings with internal and external customers, and proactively providing leadership with continual feedback on key program metrics and contract activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Military Air Mobility Management Experience
  • C-17 experience required.
  • Experience in managing C-17 training at the Wing, Group and Squadron Level.
  • Strong knowledge of C-17 flight simulator and training services market and experience in managing the development of training solutions.
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software is a strong advantage.

  • Ability to reason, plan, direct, and evaluate situations to make appropriate recommendations and take actions beneficial to the program and the company.

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the C-17 Training System Operations and Maintenance Program to include all C-17 Training Sites.
  • Managing day-to-day progress of the sites through constant interaction with site managers and immediate staff, teams of instructors, engineers, technicians, government representatives and training support personnel.

  • Daily collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, logistics, CYBERSECURITY, and operations to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Participate in overall program management discipline evolution within the organization.
  • Analyze and resolve simple and moderately complex problems using project management tools.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to other CAE USA departments in support of program.
  • Maintain teaming associations with subcontractors on the program and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare, conduct, and run medium to large technical and management meetings with internal and external customers.
  • Proactively provide leadership continual feedback on key program metrics and contract activities using existing tools and feedback mechanisms.
