About The Position

As an Operations & Maintenance Operator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of bp’s Olympic Pipeline system. This position involves hands-on field operations, minor electrical and mechanical maintenance, and supporting emergency response efforts. You’ll work both independently and as a team across multiple sites, helping maintain infrastructure that delivers refined products throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of mechanical or electrical experience, or a relevant technical degree.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S., a valid driver’s license and ability to acquire a TWIC.
  • Must adhere to DOT drug testing requirements.
  • Ability to complete bp’s O&M training program within specified and reasonable timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
  • This role is a safety sensitive position.
  • Post-offer candidates must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing, which screens for prohibited substances, including marijuana and Cannabinoids (CBD).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor pipeline facilities, including performing routine inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and manage hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Support facility maintenance and assist with minor electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Participate in emergency response activities and complete required training (DOT Operator Qualifications, Hazwoper, respiratory protection, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and use systems such as MAXIMO and MS Office for reporting and workflow management.
  • Be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed; respond to call-outs and emergency situations promptly.
  • Exhibit safe work practices at all times, including accurate use of company provided PPE and safe vehicle operation.
