About The Position

Join the dynamic SPRINT Next Team as a Linux Systems Administrator specializing in Red Hat and PitBull technologies with an emphasis on web servers, databases, and cloud-based infrastructure knowledge. This role involves hands-on administration of enterprise-level Red Hat Linux environments based on the GDMS Pitbull Operating System (OS), including web servers, database platforms, and cloud-based systems supporting a classified national security program. You will be deploying, maintaining, and optimizing widely used databases in Linux environments such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and other enterprise database platforms. Additionally, you will support and maintain cloud-based systems and infrastructure, including deployment and management across major cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You will work alongside a talented cross-functional team to deliver innovative and continuously improving solutions that exceed system performance metrics. Requirements

  • Master's degree, plus 3 years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in a specialized area or equivalent relevant experience is required; plus, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Current or active Department of Defense Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required with ability to obtain a Polygraph is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux command line administration, including system and server builds, advanced troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Proven experience administering Linux-based web servers such as Apache, NGINX, or Tomcat, and supporting enterprise database platforms including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or MariaDB in a Linux environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining cloud-based systems and deploying services across major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Proficiency in applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and addressing system vulnerabilities to maintain a secure and compliant environment
  • A minimum of an IAT Level II (DoD 8570/8140.01) certification is required at time of hire, such as CompTIA Security+, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA-Security

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in web technologies and frameworks commonly deployed in Linux environments, including experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with automation tools including Ansible, Ansible Tower/Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), and Red Hat Satellite, including the ability to create and maintain Ansible Playbooks
  • Experience with cloud-native services and deployment pipelines, including infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Hands-on experience re-imaging both physical and virtual servers and managing enterprise workstations and peripherals in a high-tempo operational environment
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative team player who identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
