About The Position

Europastry, a family business founded in Barcelona in 1987, is seeking a motivated and experienced Operation Line Technician 1 to join their growing team. This role is responsible for evaluating, optimizing, and diagnosing problems within the line processing flow. The technician will oversee operations including installation, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the process, as well as training employees to ensure the lines are functioning properly.

Requirements

  • Minimum experience of 2 years working with multiple operating machines in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Training in general safety, food safety, and quality awareness.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.
  • Technical knowledge of the machines and installations in the department.
  • Must be a team player and provide consultation.
  • Knowledge of food safety, GMP or training in the field of food.
  • Knowledge of HACCP requirements in a working environment with (food) raw materials.
  • Working knowledge of quality protocols.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work (overtime) in shifts and weekends.
  • Willingness to continue to expand working knowledge and take appropriate courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring efficient operation of multiple machines and that products are processed in conformance to quality standards and meet acceptable specifications.
  • Performing inspections and minor mechanical functions.
  • Performing prescribed basic preventative maintenance on machines as required per the Total Preventative Maintenance charts.
  • Ensuring loose products are handled properly on the line without disturbing or causing damage and distortion to the process.
  • Observing and inspecting product for any inconveniences in shape or dimensions according to the product specifications to ensure the process is running smoothly.
  • Identifying and eliminating technical malfunctions; recording and alerting the Supervisor and/or Maintenance of process disruptions.
  • Working in unison with other co-workers on the line.
  • Ensuring proper cleaning, operations, and safety of machines and work area in accordance with procedures, regulations, and working methods, and supervising compliance.
  • Correcting problems and setting priorities.
  • Identifying bottlenecks in the work processes and making suggestions for improvements.
  • Maintaining productivity logs as required.
  • Observing the line to ensure that product is moving uniformly through various stages of processing according to the production schedule.
  • Detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Working in accordance with the applicable procedures, working instructions, and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring execution of the work as defined.
  • Reporting unsafe working conditions to the Department Supervisor.
  • Knowing all emergency stop points and safety guards on the line.
  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed.
  • Performing all work-related tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior.
  • Following all Company Safety policies, GMP regulations, and lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
